@Izzie,

It must have started last Friday, and nobody knew. Hidden, see. I reached under the sink last Friday morning to turn on the stop-tap which is on the pipe leading to the outside tap. I needed to swill and refill the bird bath, see, because we can't have the little birdies bathing in dirty water. Anyway it did feel kind of loose but I didn't think too much of it, it's never leaked before.
So this morning, when I reached under there again (the cabin boy's got that cupboard full of all kinds of crap) to get a fresh binliner for the green collection, are you still with me?, it was all wet and further urgent investigation showed that the stoptap was dripping merrily. Emptying everything out and taking off the plinths showed that the whole area under the units was inundated, and the water had gone (I suppose, there's nothing to stop it and no way of getting at it, my fault I built the damn thing) under the t & g flooring units and into the insulation beneath.

So, mopping of the reachable surface area ensued and then deployment of electric fan heater. Moving it every 20 mins or so.

I could have done without this, but on the scale of things here, hey. We'll cope.

Fence man came, saw, measured, left. There's a lot of it so it'll be the thick end of a thou.

Christmas is coming, the goose is getting thin. Splice the mainbrace! Call all hands, double rum rations.

@Izzie,
Watching and waiting Captain!
BTW Dutchy,waddya make of this....
Free beer for every Aussie if Ashes are won....
An Australian team sponsor has pledged to buy a beer for every adult in the country should the home side beat England in the upcoming Ashes series. Under the "Shout the nation" commitment, if Australia win back the Ashes from England over the next two months, free coupons for Victoria Bitter (VB) will be printed in five newspapers at the conclusion of the final test on January 8.

Buying a bottle of VB for some 13 million adult Australians would cost nearly $Aus20 million at retail prices, although the brewer has chosen the first series in Australia for many years where England are thought to have a decent chance of victory.

"We're going to buy the biggest round in Australian history," VB's Craig Maclean said at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Tuesday.

"VB is urging all Aussies to get behind the team as they fight to reclaim Aussie pride and what's rightfully ours -- the Ashes."

@Barry The Mod,
I'll drink to that Harbormaster. Laughing Shouts like that are nothing new mate, there is a guy called John Singleton who buys the whole race course a beer whenever one his horse wins a big race. "MAGIC MILLIONS co-owner John Singleton ensured every mug punter walked away a winner yesterday after shouting the bar at the Gold Coast's biggest race day... "There will be free beer – at the public bar – no members," said Singleton. "He's a bloody champion," said Mr Laing-Smith, who was having little luck on the punt... "Singo, you're a dead-set legend." The crowd was 14.000! Admittedly not the whole nation like VB but nevertheless a pretty generous gesture.
