Mental Pre-game meal.

Everyone is well aware that for a physical game one should load up on carbs
well before the game. Does this same piece of advice hold true for mental competitions? Can anyone recommend some good pre-mental game meals?

I am already an avid consumer of vegetables and plenty of fruit but specifically an hour or so prior, what is a good meal?

Avoid white stuff like white bread, potatoes, rice, etc. They tend to be high on the glycemic index.

Interesting. This would be the same advice, more or less, that I would offer for a physical exertion.

I'd avoid too much sweet stuff, too, in order to avoid a crash.

Exactly, which is why it is best to avoid those foods all together.
Only complex carbohydrates are suitable for any situation, it is what we were meant to eat. All of these refined sugars which admittedly taste great, do nothing for you.
