Wake up to Mp3's?

I was thinking of getting an inexpensive little system that will wake me up with MP3's, any suggestions?

I have a cheap Apacer MP3 player, but it's not iPod compatible. My Apacer MP3 player will only run on batteries or USB power so it cannot be controlled by the little system. I could burn some CD's with MP3's and buy a little system with a clock I suppose.

I could use one of my laptops with some sort of clock software, but I am not sure if the monitor light would keep me awake. I guess I could put the monitor into blank screen saver mode, but I would (maybe) still have to deal with the laptop fan cycling and keeping me awake.

I stole my wife's Sony CMT-HPX7 but she wants it back!

I'm going to take one of my XP laptops, load WinAmp and an alarm clock plug-in.

Should be fun!

With out buying all those gadgets, you could just put your MP3 s on a cd, and buy an alarm clock with a CD player in it and have it set to wake you up by CD...

but that wouldnt be as much fun as buying gadgets..
