@Rockhead,
I need very little encouragement to keep posting. I listen to classical music most of the time. Smile

@firefly,
Anton Webern's orchestration of J.S. Bach's Ricerare from A Musical Offering. What a way to make a great piece even greater. The bass clarinet is a stroke of genius. Very Happy

@mismi,
Missi -- if you like the sound of cello in non-classical pieces you should check out Apocolytica. 2packs posted a link to one of their's a few pages back in this thread.

@firefly,
firefly,
Daughter K was sitting next to me when I pulled up your song. You got her attention immediately.

She's the cellist of the family. My history is with a flute. Here's another Telemann that brings back some memories.

@mismi,
It is really wonderful sharing all of this music. I want to thank everyone for their contributions. Listening to them has reminded me of pieces I haven't heard in a while, and some I'd forgotten, and also introduced me to some new ones.

And, for your listening pleasure, here's another one

@JPB,
A few weeks ago, I heard a very unorthodox instrument playing classical-ish music. It was a saw! I just googled it, and it turns out the saw player I heard has a website and the blog.

The composition of the music is tolerable, but rather on the elevator music end of the classical music spectrum. I'm saying this in all due respect for elevators, but -- not really my thing. It's the sound of the instrument that makes the difference here. You can find "saw lady" at:

Go take a listen if you like!
