What word can be written forward, backward or upside down, and can still be read from left to right?

I thought it was oxo but not too sure? Could it be anything else?

Such a word would have to be a palindrome and only have letters that look the same upside down, such as I, O, X

O and I are both words.

Oxo is a brand name (of a a famous beef stock cube) rather than a dictionary word. It begins with a capital therefore, so it would only be the same backwards if you spell it in capital letters only.

It was the brand that made me think it wasn't right.
Do you have any ideas as to what it could be?

What about pip? That turns into did. The riddle doesn't say it has to be the same word, just readable

Well, I suggested O and I. They are both one-letter words. However, I is different in lower case from upper case, as you can see (iI) so would not look the same upside down.

It depends whether the word is meant to be in capital letters only or if it is meant to work in lower case too.

O looks the same upside down.
NOON works in capital letters, but noon upside down is uoou
SIS is ok but sis upside down looks like s!s and it is an abbreviation, not a proper word.

OK thanks. I misread your first post - I thought you were suggesting words containing the letters O and I. I didn't know O was a word though...

It is usually written Oh these days, but it is used in the (now old fashioned) English vocative, used to address a person or group of people

e.g. O come all ye faithful

If you think the letter m looks the same upside down, you better ask your mom for some money to get some eyeglasses.
