Hi. I know when you are in college you can go and intern with companies because you'll get college credits and some work experience related to your field off study. I never persued any internships when I was in school. Can I still go back and intern with a company if I go back, and I am a college graduate? Please let me know. Thank you.
I'd guess that this would vary according to the college and according to the field of study.
If you graduated with an major in English--or even Economics--and then went back for Business courses an internship might be possible.
Ask the college.
Do you want the college credits, or are you really just interested in the work experience? Internships usually are arranged through the school, and the coordinators will likely prioritize full-time, degree-seeking students over someone who already has his/her degree. If you don't care about the college credits, you should consider looking for a temp position in your field, either by checking with local companies or working through a temp agency. My company uses student interns and temps for very similar tasks (lab technician, library services, etc.); the level of work experience would be the same for either case.
