There is currently a link on the search/forums grids that takes you there. If you click the orange icon it will go to the first post after your last session. The new site will likely have something similar (and possibly more prominent).

Is that last read location saved in a cookie on our computers? If so, it doesn't help me because I clear cookies every day and have to login to A2K each day.

It starts in the database and uses cookies in a limited way during the session (to remove orange icons as you read topics). It doesn't perfectly track what you actually read but does a decent job at coming within a few minutes of what's new since your last session was removed.

I would like the ability to delete other people's posts in MY threads. Laughing

That's a direction (with much more nuance) that we are actually going towards. More self-moderation for the user's own threads and own experience and less top-down moderation.

Will the mods still read the PMs?

Cool. One of the reasons I mentioned that, along with the request for different page length settings, is something I've complained about in the past. Some folks will post to intentionally cause pagination to occur, in order to (kinda) cover up the earlier part of a thread.

Rolling Eyes Mods currently have no ability to read PMs and never have. PMs can be forewarded to mods in the PM reporting.

To be honest, the site will likely launch without PMs at all (and later be added).

Will you stop beating women if the mods stop reading your PMs?

So will you stop beating women with baseball bats or not?

Hmm, and here I thought the mods were jugglers not baseball players. You say they're all bat carrying mods now?

Nah, just indulging in some of Francis' "have you stopped beating your wife" discourse.

Questions:

1) On the search and forum pages how many topics per page would you find ideal?

2) On the topic pages, how many posts per page would you find ideal?

1. Perfectly happy with what is there now. Also wouldn't fret if it changed.

2. At least 50. 100 would be greater.

Once again, won't fret if greater numbers causes problems, anjd it stays where it is.

Does this clicking on the orange icon work for anyone else? I've tried it a few times and nothing happens. They aren't clickable links.

We're talking about the icon in the furthest left column of the New Posts list, right? They change from blue to orange when that thread has an unread post in it. Am I missing something obvious or is it not working as described by Craven?

Region, do you use Internet Explorer? And please confirm that we're talking about the icon in the further left column.

When I move the mouse over it, the pointer doesn't convert to the clickable link pointer.

The properties for the icon image shows this:
