Hi guys
Could someone please edit this passage for me? It is meant for Year 3
students. Thank you very much.
One Saturday afternoon, David was walking in the park when he saw a dog. The dog was whining. David walked towards it to find out what wrong with it.
David lifted its paws and saw a thorn in its left front paw. He quickly pulled it out. Then he took the packet of biscuits in his trouser pocket and gave a few of them to the dog. It ate them quickly. It must have been very hungry. After it had eaten, David patted its head and it wagged its tail happily.
Suddenly,a snake slithered out from the bushes. It was moving towards David, who being frightened, stood rooted to the ground. He was too frightened to react. On seeing the snake, the dog was not afraid. It showed its courage by biting the snake on the neck. The snake struggled, but the dog did not budge. Soon the snake died.
David patted the dog to express his gratitude. As he believed that it was a stray dog, David decided to take it home. When his parents returned home, David related how the dog saved him, and asked his parents whether they would allow him to keep it as a pet. His parents did not object as they were grateful that the dog had killed the snake before it could reach David.
David named his dog "Bravo" after the word "bravery" as it is a brave dog. Every evening, David takes it for a walk. It is now David's constant companion.
Re: editing of passage
A good piece, Yoong Liat. It hardly needs editing.
