Hi
Could someone please edit this passage for me? Thank you very much.
One sunny day, Johnny and his younger sister, Mary, were walking home from school. On their way, they saw a shiny watch on the ground.
Mary picked the watch up and put it on her wrist. She wanted to keep it as it as it looked beautiful. Her brother told her to take it to the police station as it was wrong to keep what did not belong to her.
They then walked to the nearby police station. Mary was reluctant to return the watch as she liked it very much. However, her brother asked her, "Would you be sad if you lost something valuable. She said that she would and agreed with him that she should take the watch to the police station so that the owner could be found. At the police station, they saw a woman there. She was making a police report regarding the loss of her watch. When she saw Mary with the watch, she recognised it was hers.
Mary told the police officer that she had found a watch and wanted to make a report about it. When the woman said that the watch was hers, the police officer asked Mary to hand the watch to him. She did as instructed. The police officer then asked the woman some questions regarding the watch to confirm that it was hers.
When he was satisfied that the watch belonged to the woman, he asked Mary to make a report about her picking up the watch. After that, she returned the watch to the owner, who was asked to acknowledged receipt of it. She then thanked the police officer and Mary profusely.

It's fine, nothing much wrong with it.
I would suggest, however, making two small changes:
"Wouldn't you be sad if.....
She said that she would, and....."
Many thanks, Mc Tag.
Another careless mistake of mine.
