Okay, so in the beginning of the OLD testament there is a lot of talk about the everlasting covenant between GOD and man, as you can see below, in a screen capture I got when searching through bible.com using the new international version.
Everlasting. Hmm. That means FOREVER, doesn't it? To last for...ever. Yeah, I think that is what it means.
But no! Wait! Hold the Phone! In the NEW testament, Jesus talks about a NEW covenant, as you'll notice below, in another screen capture I got off bible.com using the new international version.
What? If GOD, who is perfect in all ways as they say, says everlasting, then why would there ever be a need for there be a new covenant? That would imply that the first one was...shall we say...imperfect? And if GOD can send Jesus down to fool around with the rules and change a covenant that GOD previously said would last for EVER, then how can you trust any of the other things that GOD says are supposed to be everlasting, such as everlasting life in heaven, or GOD's everlasting love?
