Who was the first woman appointed to serve as a justice of the United States Supreme Court?
Have you heard about Google? This sounds like an "I'm too lazy to do my homework" question, rather than an "ask an expert" question.
Sandra Day O'Connor . . . and i agree with Contrex, although this is simple-minded enough that i don't think there's any hope for this student, and giving this answer will not prevent scholastic disaster.
