PSone AC Adapter Powersupply with a PS2 Slim?

Are you able to use a PSone AC Adapter Powersupply with a PS2 Slim? I'm afraid to try it myself, but it fits right rinto the AC Adapter Powersupply port perfectly. The problem is that I'm afriad that it could cause a fire or ruin my PS2 Slim. Will this work. Please answer, it would be really appreciated.
