My computer had a bad power module. A friend couldn't find another one and Gateway computer didn't have one, so he took my Torisan(Sanyo) 3 CD-ROM drive and my hard drive and put it in another Gateway tower. Now my CD-ROM drive that used to show up as drive d, e, and f doesn't show up at all in My Computer. The light on the drive comes on, but I can't play music CD's or load a software CD. Help!!!!!!!!
Whaddaya mean a "3 cd-rom drive"? Is this 1 device that can play 3 CDs that you're plugging in to 1 EIDE controller? If so that's not standard so you'll need special drivers and/or special BIOS support. (Ordinarily, though there are ways around it, a PC only supports 4 EIDE devices, and each of your hard drives counts as one too.) Also make sure to check the master/slave jumpers.
You should be able to get a new power supply for your other PC from any computer hardware store. Just make sure you get one with enough Watts to run all the CD-ROM drives & stuff in there.
