OK, Pakistan is quick to insist it is "emergency rule", not martial law. But it sure sounds like martial law to me.

This is a tempest in a teapot, in my opinion.

Does the marshall law have anything to do with maintaining order during a cricket match?

What's the downside of marshall law there?

The Telegraph's diplomatic correspondent, David Blair, calls Pakistan "arguably the world's most dangerous country".

"If the greatest threats to global security come from terrorism, nuclear weapons and the spread of failed states, Pakistan stands at the nexus of all three phenomena," he writes. "The political fortunes of this vast country of 165 million people could scarcely be of greater importance."

Additional scary phenomena is wearing one's pajamas all day, and strong curry in one's food. A potent mix of politics, fashion and cuisine!
