I saved my address book (thousands of them) on an external hard drive and when I went just now to import it back to my Outlook Express it won't do it. Gives me an error message.
If there is anyone here on A2K and I know there are a few who I have swapped email addresses with please pm me and let me get it again. This will take forever.
Lost my entire folder of business contacts, people on my fan base (don't laugh, yes I have one) e mail list... dammit this is a pain in the ass.
Are you able to pinpoint the source of the error message?
Is it hardware/operating system incompatibility between the external and current systems?
Software version incompatibilities between what was used to archive the file to the external and what you are using to restore it?
Any more details you can provide might help some of the tech types help you with the transition rather than having to recreate it all.
I turned off the external hard drive, rebooted, and it is now merrily importing my address book, so no worries. Something goes right. Hard to f*&^&g believe.
First rule of technical support for computers:
Reboot and try again.
Glad it worked out. Now you can send all your fans the latest pinup poster of you at work.
