That's when you pull the trigger. Shooting an intruder in the back will land you in jail, so if they're still advancing you have to shoot.

Interesting about the .38 vs the .45. I'm really good with a pistol, but of course one would want to try out whatever new gun they buy. They're not cheap, why buy one and stick it in a closet.

I've never understood people who want to take guns away from legal citizens. You'll never get them away from the criminals, so that plan has always been completely idiotic. I think that the people who oppose them, are simply not used to them.

If u don't then u might be disarmed by the criminal
and that can bring bad luck.

I am not inclined to shoot a criminal in the back.
I ll rather let him leave.
( This is not good for the future safety of my neighbors,
but I am disinclined to shoot anyone in the back, while he is leaving. )

I think pistols are dangerous,
because thay jam too much;
( in my experience; even when I keep a stiff wrist ).
Many people disagree with me.

I believe that REVOLVERS are much better.

Please don 't cheap out.
Get a GOOD one.

" Whatever 's worth doing is worth doing WELL;
'cause it might be IMPORTANT; u never can tell.

So no matter how little it seems at the start,
if u do it, then do it with all of your heart
. "

When u make your choice, remember: STOPPING POWER.
It is not enuf to kill an attacking predator; ( if he dies the next day, that 's not good enuf )
u must STOP him from getting to u.
U must KEEP HIM OFF OF U.

After u get your favorite,
then work out with it at the gunnery range
to get accustomed to it.

Thay wanna use Prohibition,
because it worked so well against alcohol in the 1920s
and it works so great to keep everyone away from marijuana now.

I believe that it is very deeply seated in the psychology of these people.
It has to do with the fundamental choice between:

1 ) libertarian freedom and individualism

or

2 ) authoritarian, collectivist government which is the
emotionally substituted mommy n daddy;
thay don 't wanna leave childhood,
and this philosophy of government is their way of clinging to it.

Thay wanna be RULED with blind faith
in the great authority above,
instead of making their own decisions n running their own lives.

good points, it makes alot of sense now that you say it out loud.

People just dont want to think , at all, for themselves or for anything.
they want everything mcbigsized for them.

OmSigDavid - you make great points, yet again Very Happy

OGOINIK - "mcbigsized" is a great way to put it. Big government doesn't solve any problems, and that is the government some people want - one which will think FOR people and "protect them from themselves" instead of allowing "survival of the fittest" (that sounds harsh, but I can't think of a less extreme way to put it)

Yes.
Government was not created, nor granted any authority
to protect people from THEMSELVES.

If humans need government to keep from killing themselves off, what does that say about us?

Maybe wihtout all the regulations we would regain collectively the mental strength and stamina we have lost due to years of, years of i dont know?

It reminds me of the city that took out all stoplights and replaced them with signs, traffic accidents REDUCED oddly enough..

But then again you cant use signs when you have 8 lanes both ways can ya?

Mostly certain kinds of people would kill each other off - I think the people who were left living might be a bit above all that.

And yeah, people have more respect for a stop sign than a light, for some reason.

Anyone and everyone has the right
to defend himself from violence,
regardless of the consequences.

There is no right more fundamental than that.
