Which CD burner package are all of you using these days, and why do you prefer it over the others? Shocked

Easy CD Creator and Nero seem quite common. How about other software? Nobody use others software?

They are common because they are the best. I have tried a few others that were not memorable enough to remember their names.

I use Adaptec's EZ-CD Creator and Nero as well. The latest versions of Nero can be used to burn DVDs too.

Adaptec? The ads above say Roxio and that's what I thought it was.

Same with the latest version of Easy CD Creator. There's an excellent Japanese program I use sometimes called B'z Recorder Gold.

There aren't any as well-featured, stable, and that support as many CD-writer drives as Nero Burning Rom & Adaptec/Roxio Easy CD Creator.

Version 5 & 6 have used the name Roxio. Before that it was always 'Adaptec EZ CD Creator'.

I think Roxio bought Easy CD from Adaptec. Mine is an older version (v4.0).

Aha, thanks. I was wondering if there were two different software lines under the same name.

"HD-Burn" is a newish technology that allows CDs to be burned at double density. Instead of a standard 700MB the same disc can be burned with 1.4GB of data on it.

http://www.digital-sanyo.com/BURN-Proof/HD-BURN/

The technology isn't useable (currently at least) for things like audio CDs but for a strictly data storage medium you double your CD's capacity.

Hey fishin,
You ever have any problems with HD Burn-ed CDs? I've been a bit too worried about it not being readable by an occasional drive to give it a try so far.

I've only used it a few times but so far it hasn't been a problem. The CD Burner has to support the feature of course but Sanyo's Certification center also lists what burners have been tested and what medium was used for the tests. I got lucky and happend to buy the same tpe that were used when my OptoWrite DVD burner was certified.

I have heard other mention that they've had probelms with other discs though.
