Okay, since you said "Please" and "Excuse me" in such a nice way: I've just edged it away (was only written with a pencil).

Ah, Chanukah, with a ch. Reminds me of a song from my youth.

O Chanukah, o Chanukah,
Come light the menorah.
Let's have a party.
We'll all dance the hora.
Gather round the table,
We'll give you a treat.
Lots of games to play with
And good things to eat.
And while we are playing,
The candles are burning low--
One for each night,
They shed a sweet light
To remind us of days long ago.

Sometimes not having sound is a good thing. You couldn't hear me croaking as I typed.

Chappy Chanukah, all.

Oy, a separate thread this should be?

The song sounds sweet, Roberta. I hope it doesn't concern religion, because I'd like to learn how to sing it.
Very Happy

Walter, Did you remember to greet the doctor? Now I'm worried.

Kitchenpete, If you can't kibitz on line for a bagel, where can you kibitz?

Oristar, Chanukah is a Jewish holiday. The candles represent a miracle. But it is a sweet little song. I don't see why you can't sing it. I sing Christmas songs. :-) Of course, relaying the tune to you would be a bit of a challenge.

Kitchenpete, You had to mention bagels. Now I'm in the mood for one, with a shmear and maybe some lox. It's 3:30 a.m. I know this is the city that never sleeps and I probably could find a bagel at this hour. But am I gonna schlep now to find a bagel? Nope. I wish I had done what my mother taught me. Keep some in the freezer--just in case.

Go to:

http://www.klezmerconservatory.com/cd.htm

There is a wav file under "Oy Chanukah", #23, so you can hear the tune. In this rendition, the words are in Yiddish!
