Congrats, you got it right - almost =)

My answer doesn't say anything about drying the herring - I'd like to ask where you got your answer?

And is 'Kippers to that joke' a good or bad thing?

I figured it out from the clues of course. Either that or I googled it (possibly from the same source as you): incidentally I'm almost sure I've heard that joke before.

I added the bit about drying to make it harder for you. Herrings (kippers) are often dried (smoked) I thought I'd improve on the joke given the reference to painting and wall. Oh so amusing that you had to ask.

Curiously, (you may laugh now) it took me longer to find a reference to kippers as slang for 'die' in of all places the 'Dictionary of Ichthyology' but I don't think the joke should die, I believe it was already dead and smelling of umm err it'll come to me ...

Well, I got it from a movie. I'd never heard of it before, the movie that is, before my friend showed it to me, so I thought whoever knew the answer would have seen the same obscure movie as us. But I guess snooty know-it-alls as you wouldn't waste time watching movies, would you? Much better spending it here on a little forum, insulting people you don't know who are just trying to have a bit of fun.

Thanks you, and I will, once my brain gets used to the new migraine medication, and starts running on 'normal' or something close to it again - losing concentration and your short-term memory is not what you need right at the start of the school year, believe me.

And I did get the original AoE, thanks for asking =) (that's what you get for using the same screenname allover, eh? *L*)
I got very lucky and found a double pack with the original + expansion and AoE II + expansion for something near £7 (without postage) - A BARGAIN! Especially since I then sold my AoE II Gold (with expansion) for £5 =D makes a student happy!

(And I had to look at the case since I couldn't remember the word for 'expansion', and the miss-typings I've had to correct through this short text, christ..)

Hey Maria, I am glad it worked out so well; a bargain is a bargain in any language. And if I could speak Dutch 1% as well as you do English I would be well pleased. Een prettige dag nog!

"Oh rapture, which bits insulted you the most?"

The first is that it will take place sometime prior to the Tribulation. The second is that it will take place mid-way through the Tribulation. The third is that it will take place after the Tribulation.

I mean; give a guy a break! I have appointments to make.
