I just saw The Wild One for the first time since I was about ten. Boy what a gloomy movie set! What make was Brando´s motorcycle? It didn´t look like a Harley. Indian or something?

Sorry guys, both wrong. It was a beautiful British bike made by Triumph Motorcycles.Look in 1.4 Post-war era.

In the U.K. it was known as the 500cc Speed Twin, but was up-graded to 650cc for the U.S. market and re-named The Thunderbird.I reckon the standard handlebars were replaced for a more "visual appeal".

Thank you. Actually I was thinking BSA or Triumph at first because of those horizontal chrome bars on the gas tank but then thought naw they probobly used American bikes.

That was Brando's own Triumph motorcycle he road in the movie. The film was actually banned in England until 1968.
