So, what are your thoughts on Beckham coming to play MLS? I know a big reason to get him here was to grow support for soccer and that seems to be working. I sure have joined in the soccer buzz. I tried to get tickets to the DC United game against LA last week and there was no chance! They sold out right away! I heard that he is going to play tonight in the SuperLiga Semifinals against DC (If you can't tell, I'm from DC) so I'm pretty pumped to watch the game. I've seen some of the futbol meets football videos with him and Reggie Bush on you tube -

I think he's getting to the end of his career.
I reckon he's only got another season or 2 left him before either he retires or starts playing poor quality/lower league football.
I think he'll stand out in MLS but if he came back to the premiership, he'd probably look nothing better than average.
Many great footballers ended their careers in the USA, with very little success, Pele, Beckenbauer (I think). I don't think he's making the right career move, and he wil do little to change footballs status in the USA on his own, imo.
I really enjoy soccer and love going to the games. It's definitely a different feel than football or baseball and I think that's what I like most about it. I've also been to games in London and it was unbelievable. I would really like to see soccer grow in popularity. And if Beckham can help that I'm all for it. I mean - the guy is quite an athlete. The you tube videos even have him throwing and punting footballs. Check it out, he's not bad!
