Deb, Aha, you instantly found the flaw in the owl idea. Although I haven't met many in person, I don't think they're especially amusing. I'll have to rethink the dlowan animal.

You said, "I was thinking something a little birdy for you, too, Boida (doh!) - hmmmmm - something clever, quick, bright little eyes, seems to have a great sense of humour - aha - the willy wag tail! Although you are a nightbird. Willy wags (Oz ones) - wear a perfect black and white outfit - they are fearless, soon teaching cats that they cannot be caught, and often tormenting them thereafter - by sitting on their heads and suchlike. They are curious - liking to be wherever anything is happening, and to supervise and assist."

I love dem boids, Deb. You picked one I never heard of, but it sounds like it has possibilities. The fearless part doesn't fit. But you make up for it with the idea of sitting on a cat's head. LOL. It's worth a try.

Deb, The best boids in the woild? Aw, shucks. Embarrassed I'm flattered.

Cav, You want to be something mysterious. How about a Tasmanian tiger? They once existed. Now no one is sure whether any are left. From the rare photos I've seen, they look a bit more doglike than catlike, but they do have stripes. Here's a link.

Okapis are also mysterious animals. Very rare. But I don't see you as one of them.

I'm still not comfortable with being a duck. How 'bout a swan? They're self-possessed and fearsome... mate for life, have ugly ducklings and seem, well, a little bit lazy.

Off to see what a Willy Wag bird is... Roberta as a bird that sits on cats' heads? Wonderful! (You should try that on Mikey! Mikey the cat!)

Tasmanian Tiger, a.k.a. Tasmanian Wolf. Largest known carniverous marsupial in the world, extraordinarily rare. Sounds pretty darn cool!

Okay, I'll be an emperor penguin.

I have a funny penguin movie around here someplace. Don't remember where I found it, but I'd guess it was probably Jerry's...

Is there a way to put a short movie (or link thereto) that is stored in my computer into a post?

Piffka, I'm with you about the duck. You don't seem especially duckie to me. And the few swans I've met have been kinda nasty.

My first thought was a raccoon for you, but I'm having second thoughts. They're smart, busy, into everything. And outstanding survivors. I love raccoons.

Thanks for finding the Willy Wag photo. I'm assuming that the actual bird has feathers. Looks like a boid I wouldn't want to mess with.

I'm a step ahead of you, Piff, on the sitting on the cat's head idea. I said above, "But you make up for it with the idea of sitting on a cat's head." The timing couldn't be better. Mikey and I aren't speaking again.

Well, I could just be Eeyore.... oh, well.

Yeah, that bird had a wooden look to it. Here's the other photo on Google:

Apparently they have two-headed babies!

I do indeed prefer my seriousness in short, pointed remarks rather than long debacles, and I like abalone.

A baloney is not an animal! Isn't a Cavalier swashbuckling? I think Cav is a fabulous horse, maybe even one of those excellent dressage horses...

I do agree Piffka is not a duck. I thought of owl for her, but P is warm and wonderful, not the exact first words I think of re owls, which are kinda predatory.

What sort of an animal am I? Today? A SHREW!!!!!!!

I am soooooooo grumpy that the next person who calls me today and wants to talk about their miserable life (which is my job, as it happens) that I am liable to say "Just what makes you mistake me for someone who GIVES a damn?"

That would be wrong, wouldn't it? Tell me it would be wrong!
