When i was seven years of age, my grandfather gave me a copy of The Outline of History, by H. G. Wells. I've been hooked ever since.
You read that book at 7 years old? I don't think I even read cartoons at that age.
I like The Histories of Herodotus.
Yeah, i read it. That doesn't mean that i claim to have understood everything i read--but if one never attempted to go past the level assigned to them arbitrarily by society, there might never be any exceptional people. I don't claim to personally be an exceptional individual, other than to suggest that i have a better memory than most people i know. But i am glad to say that my grandfather taught to read in the summer before my fourth birthday, and he used the book The Wind in the Willows. I was exposed to good literature throughout my childhood. I think it was a good idea.
