A few more things I do:
1)I don't wash my hair everyday (according to beauticians, washing your hair daily is not good for it)- saves on water, shampoo & conditioner

2) I certainly don't shampoo it twice like the bottle says- saves on buying more shampoo

3) I have always bought my cars new and keep them at least 10 or more years. During those 10 years is when I have the money to buy another car, if I want another car. When I sell a car, I always get a good price since I don't drive around much and the mileage is low.

4) I use ebay and buy in bulk for a certain item

5) costco I use to buy in bulk for certain items

I don't know if anyone else has posted similiar ideas since I didn't read the whole thread......

I will bm it though to pick up some ideas from you guys.

I do all that stuff as well. I have a 2001 Camry with a whole 52,000 Kilometers on it and from what I read on the consumer reports before I bought it, it should last me forever. I just can't wait until it's paid, so I can do something major in my house. I swear I'm obsessed with my house Laughing

Thanks for the tips, TTH :-D

I save my toenail clippings and use them as drainage in the bottom of flower pots.

I save a bunch of money of gravel that way.

I got a bunch of rocks left over from digging up flower gardens and sifting through the soil and I put them all in large empty flower pots and was thinking about what to do with them, so I decided to make myself a fire pit out back. To make a fire pit you need gravel or rock and the only reason why I didn't make one before was because I wasn't going to pay for rocks.

Now I have rocks, which came free of charge, although the work which it involves would pay pretty good bucks if I was being paid by the hour ;-)

Great exercise, new garden and free rocks for my fire pit.....Ahhhhhhh....this is the life Laughing

And speaking of my new flower gardens, the reason why I started this is because I was looking through my Vessey's seeds flyer to check out the vegetable seeds and found these 'best buy' pages with flower bulbs marked way down and they had an offer (with code) where if you spend $50, you get $25 off.
I start looking through these flowers and they were so beautiful I couldn't resist and I was in need of something to brighten up my life and my yard a bit, so I went for it.
In fact, I got so much into it, I didn't have time for my vegetable garden Laughing

I went with bulbs that you just plant and they come up every year. I don't have the time or desire to go out every fall and dig up a mess of bulbs, so I went with Lillies, poppies, tulips, blue bells, day lillies and a of course I got my sunflower seeds to control the neighbours Laughing

Yes, and I collect the toenail clippings of my enemies too. I sew them up into little voodoo dolls by the light of the fool moon. Then I bury them up to their little necks and run over with them with a lawnmower.

But, that's a subject for a different thread.

Speaking of shampoo, toothpaste and all that stuff...I don't even pay for that.

On other threads I've talked about rebating, so I'm not going to go into all that. That not only saves a lot, but gets you to try new products, because you really can't be brand loyal to let's say one brand of shampoo and expect it always to have a rebate.

I will say this though, if you can get something for free with a rebate, do it. Even if you don't want/need it yourself, someone can use it. Hospice, for instance, ALWAYS needs shave cream, soap, tooth brushes, tooth paste, deodorant, lotion. etc. etc.

Yeah, I hear ya. In fact, I have a coupon for a free bag of puppy food I ordered (for free on that site) for my neighbour, who just got a new puppy (not the nosy one).
Gotta take a walk over there when the sun comes back out so I can pass it along and meet her new puppy :-D

I for the longest time used to sign up for every freebie possible.
I never had to buy razors for almost 8 months.

Same with lotions and shampoo.
The sample packages would be good for at least two uses.

Two words......Amazon.

A few more words: if you go to Amazon through the A2K link on the Home Page, A2K gets a small (usually about 5% although sometimes more) reward for the referral, at zero cost to you. Since you're buying at Amazon anyway, we'd all appreciate the support. Thanks!

WOW!

I'll definitely do that.

Very Happy

Are there any other links we could be using to benefit A2K?

That's the main one. There's also buying media stuff (CDs and whatnot) through the Portal or Shop links at the top of the page. I'm pretty sure the Shop link is a lot more up to date than the Portal link.

PS The hamsters thank you.

PPS I was checking out the grocery and -- ha! -- they have Italian green beans! RP will be so happy.

PPPS Thank you for the coup code.

Just got a good size bottle of Head N Shoulders and even though I don't use it, my son does. Makes great little extras to throw in with gift baskets as well :-D

My son is a car nut and I've been getting free racing stickers, CDs, etc....

Hey!

Saw an ad in Sundays paper that if you open up a free checking account at wachovia bank with a hundred bucks...they give you a $75 Academy Sporting Goods gift card on the spot!!!

you only have to keep the account open a minimum of 48 hours.

I'm going to have both Mr Tea and I open accounts.

Don't know if it's only in this area or not...but worth checking out.
