I am from Canada and am an LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse)...........I have written my nursing exam (NCLEX) in South Carolina......also had my credentials checked in Philadelphia NSGFN Nursing School Graduate Foreign Nurses................and still Immigration says my employer must pay $1,800 dollars to employ me, and then still wait 9 months or LONGER til I get my work visa. Already the exam (which I passed) etc. took close to 2 years. Does ANYBODY know if any employers willing to hire LPN's in the STATES???.......they say there is such a nursing shortage and not just RN's why is it SO DIFFICULT for a Canadian LPN to get a job.
I have a passport, police check, nurisng experience, great references.
HELP please.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

LPNs and RNs are in big demand in the US today. If I were you, I'd make up a list of hospitals in that area of the US, where I would like work and then send off your questions to them.

Perhaps they'll be able to help you.

Good luck!
