I suppose, those mentioned on that site are only the members of the "American Society of Notaries".

No. Mail Order Notary if the going rate is $200 for a signature and stamp.

I wonder if the addresses given are the notary's home address, and there are still some floating around in places like banks.
I looked on the website too - and there were not many in my area - Boston - so I am definately not in the sticks. It looks like it only includes those that probably register with this particular website.
hi
hi miss my mother does notary and yes she is notarized
In Boston virtually every insurance agent, druggist, car dealership etc. etc. is a notary public, duly sworn by the Commonwealth. I need something notarized, I generally just walk across the street. Most travel agents, too, for whatever reason.
i usually go to my local state representitives office who provides this service for free.
Most places that offer auto title & transfer services have a notary on staff.
Many insurance companies also provide this service.
According to that website, if a notary wants to be listed on the site, they have to pay up $39 per year to the website owner! So that's why you won't see nearly close to all the notaries actually around in your area. Many notaries would not pay that crazy annual fee. I boycott sites like that.
