Do you mean:

Behind the Green Glass Door are kittens but not cats, puppies but not dogs,
teeth but not mouths, cotton but not shirts, and glass but not frames.
What's behind the Green Glass Door?

jsmith1977 -- it would be good if you'd tell us the entire riddle. "What's behind the Green Door?" gives no clues whatever.

In the 50s there was a hit record called Green Door. That was the origin of the question you have asked.

-Artist: Jim Lowe
-peak Billboard position #1 for 3 weeks in 1956
-Words by Marvin Moore and Music by Bob Davie

{music includes constant "tick-tock" clock sound}

(Midnight, one more night without sleepin')
(Watchin' till the mornin' comes creepin')
(Green door, what's that secret you're keepin?)

There's an old piano
And they play it hot behind the green door
Don't know what they're doin'
But they laugh a lot behind the green door
Wish they'd let me in
So I could find out what's behind the green door

(Knocked once, tried to tell them I'd been there)
(Door slammed, hospitality's thin there)
(Wonder just what's goin' on in there)

Saw an eyeball peepin'
Through a smoky cloud behind the green door
When I said "Joe sent me"
Someone laughed out loud behind the green door
All I want to do is join the happy crowd behind the green door

(Midnight, one more night without sleepin')
(Watchin' till the mornin' comes creepin')
(Green door, what's that secret you're keepin?)

(Green door, what's that secret you're keepin?)

Mystery. Excitement. Grown up secrets.

The link gives sound--honky tonk piano.

I like our Old Fashioned Green Door.

Your Green Door conceals only nouns with double letters. I knew that game as Tilly Williams--and what she liked or didn't like.

Edgar--

Let's you and I meet at midnight on the safe side of the Green Door.

Thank you, I was thinking far too deeply to ever consider just the composition of the words.

Hey, I wanna get inside there, noddy.
The version I posted mistakenly gives the year as 1956. I believe it was closer to 1958 or 9.

Edgar--

You and I are both 50+ years older than we were in the '50's, but together we can get through Green Door.

Of course, you could probably do it all by yourself, but I was born on the cusp and would appreciate your Manly Arm.

Quote:
(Midnight, one more night without sleepin')
(Watchin' till the mornin' comes creepin')
(Green door, what's that secret you're keepin?)

(Green door, what's that secret you're keepin?)

Green door!!

I think the release date was closer to 1956 than 1959--I was Sweet Sixteen and just dying to be Very Wicked as soon as someone gave the The Road Map.

Squinney--

Ditch The Bear for the Evening. Edgar has two arms and at midnight we'll all go through the Green Door.

Provided Edgar consents.....?

According to wikipedia it is a 1972 theatrically-released feature-length pornographic film, which is widely considered to be a "classic".

And if you are in the UK, behind the green door is a storage space for a dress shop in West London.
