@Tejas Kshatriya,
The Wright Brothers were from India? And Leibnitz?

This is news to me.

@Tejas Kshatriya,
Thanks Tejas for the q, something I have often wondered about. The Indians just seem smarter or at least more curious

@cicerone imposter,
One day, a little lizard crawled onto my shoulder and whispered "I'm a brontosaurus on my mother's side". It was so sad, I couldn't disillusion him.

Okay, I stole that story from Heinlein.

@Tejas Kshatriya,
The binary number system was first used in Africa (not India).

@Tejas Kshatriya,
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Indian_inventions_and_discoveries

And the list goes on:

Quote:
Low-cost sanitary pad machine: Arunachalam is the inventor of a low-cost sanitary pad making machine and has innovated grass-roots mechanisms for generating awareness about traditional unhygienic practices around menstruation in rural India.

@Tejas Kshatriya,
I really think that, if you think that you are correct in your assertion, then when did India lose this lead in the sciences, and why.
Countries like Britain , had "Golden Centuries" in which they learned and developed so many things, Yet today, while they arent the leader of the world, they certainly still have a huge output of science discoveries.

It appears to me that most of Indian trained scientists and engineers were trained in the USA, Britain, or Germany. I had so many employees who were originally trained BS or BGe in India in the geological and mining sciences and yet, they came over to the US for their MS's and PhD's
