Whoa! That is a big question.

The UN, Iran and Iraq threads - look in politics - have been pretty good at times.

One the most flogged of dead equines in these fora, and one with a decidedly acrimonious flavor, is the theist/agnostic/atheist topic, available in many colorful designs . . . it has raised many an innocent and unsuspecting blood pressure.

I'm relatively new to A2K too so I can't tell you much about the history of the debate topics. What I will tell you though is that appreciation of the value of a topic is largely subjecive. If it's a topic that matters to you then you'll probably think it's better than the others around. For examples of this, take a look at the most recently posted thread about circumcision, the people who feel strongly about it think it's a fabulous thing to debate over. The people who couldn't care less seem to think that debating it again is akin to trying to bring back spandex (I'm looking at you, joefromchicago).

Anyway, if we're to take your username seriously then you're here to learn. Best way to do that is to jump in with both feet and try out an argument!

My personal favorite is Frank Apisa's "Why aren't Christians killing Homosexuals". That's how I found this site after doing a search on something similar.
