After sending my friend a picture I had saved to my computer via facebook messenger, my account was locked due to the belief that my computer has "malware". However, when I go to download Facebook's malware removal tool, it never opens and therefore can not start a scan, this is inhibiting me from also logging into any account that I have on other sites that is through Facebook (i.e., IMGUR...so I need to find a solution ASAP!)

Start with a regular old virus scan, I'd suggest. You might even have to hit an earlier restore point in order to get the tool to work.

The alert was false so that didn't work but I finally got it to open after resetting some things in my browser but thank you!

Which browser settings did you change? Same thing is happening to me.
