Interesting. What was the movie's name?

This sounds almost like the remake of "Village of the damned".

Film Trivia.

The original village of the damned (1960?) was filmed in Letchmore Heath, just under a mile from where I lived at the time.

My older brother, who was seven at the time, was an extra in the film. He was one of many blond kids milling about in the background in one or two scenes. He was so far away, we couldn't tell which one was him

He was paid £2. A fortune for a kid in those days.

I saw the film again recently, and the village on film still looks very much like it looks today. Only the cars are different.
