Hi all,

I'm curious to know what causes these large loose rock formations in the Sierra Nevadas near Truckee, CA. An example can be see on Google Maps at this house and some areas nearby: https://www.google.com/maps/place/12001+Somerset+Dr,+Tahoe+National+Forest,+Truckee,+CA+96161/@39.3397305,-120.0739985,372m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!3m1!1s0x809960d63ad1aa8b:0xc189547a963931f6
