I went to an ugly sweater party recently, it was super fun. I hit the jackpot at the thrift store -- a whole rack full of 'em, cheap. I selected the one that I thought was most odious, but there were odious-er ones at the party. Here's some party-goers (winner isn't in the pic, me either):

C'mon, is that odious or is it odious? The texture really adds something, too -- super synthetic and 80's. Bleh.

Is it gay that I went to Olan Mills and had Christmas photos taken with my cat, and then had one of those photos ironed onto a red and green sweatshirt?

And what if I told you the Christmas card I'm distributing this year features a photograph of me holding my cat in front of the Christmas tree while wearing the abovementioned sweatshirt?

Totally hetero? Cool.

For a minisecond I almost liked that green one, Chai, but my eyes focused and I realized what I was seeing.

Oddly, or coincidentally, I have - all year - in my hallway wall of fame in frames a photo of a favorite teacher, ordinarily one of the most stylish guys on earth, in plain grey pj's, holding the family cocker spaniel, with the dog and himself wearing reindeer hats. Part of the sweetness is that it is him, of all people, in the photo.
