How do I clean ivory jewelry which has turned dark?

My ivory necklace has turned dark from wear, and I wish to restore its original ivory color. How?

I wonder if a pencil eraser would help. Try a little (gently) on a surface you normally don't see (e. g. the back) and see how it goes.

Ivory jewelry has a great demand because of its beauty. You should take a great care to clean and preserve the ivory jewelry because if you damage it the damage will be beyond repair.
