Zora Folley - American heavyweight fighter who lost to Muhammad Ali. It was lamented by those knowledgeable about boxing that Folley never got his shot at the championship until he was quite old because he was so good that the other contenders were careful to avoid fighting him. This prevented Folley from being able to be ranked high enough to get a chance at the title until his late thirties.

(The series was the Aquanauts, but it turned out Keith Andes wasn't in it. He was all over TV in that time frame, though. Hence the confusion).
