I continue to paint from nature exploring the agon between representation and abstraction that I find as the substance of 20th century art, and so compelling.
Favorite media: Oil Paint; charcoal, pastel, ink, pencil
love art that challenges expectations and can make a confident statement. At one time or other drawn to many post 19th century painters; always come back to Picasso, Goya, Hudson River School, Abstract Expressionists; Avery, Dove, Ryder; Impressonists; Post Impressionists.
Recent conversation with Chuck Close illuminated for me a deep connection between abstract principals and representation; especially perception.

Recently exhibited in Chelsea, where I serve assisting the director of the gallery; free-lance art-handling in Chelsea and mid-town. Upcoming solo exhibit: Kingston, NY; Sept. 2003
