Was freed! The British journalist spent 4 months held in Gaza. 200,000 people signed an online petition for his release. And he's free! Since the 4th!

Whoa! How did I miss it? I've been following his story for a long while.
Apparently no one else has
I have been following the story, but this is the first time that i have seen this thread. What i have found most interesting about the report of his release if the insistence of Hamas that they have been the honest brokers of this desirable consummation. The implication is, of course, that those who had seized and held Mr. Johnston were no part of, and not under the control of Hamas, but that Hamas was able to successfully negotiate with them. I remain unconvinced that this is the case, although i certainly cannot state that they are lying. I do suspect that they are intentionally misstating the case, however.
