Council in fear of 13
The addresses of an entire block of flats had to be changed after a council banned the owner from using number 13.
Officials insist no one wants to live at No 13 because it is considered unlucky - even though it has been sold.
Landlord Paul Halfacre was also told to renumber the flats from right to left, instead of left to right, reports the Daily Mirror.
Gary Taylor, 44, who bought Flat 13 in Brunel House, Thatcham, said the change was a sign of the "the world going mad".
West Berkshire Council admitted banning homes numbered 13, adding: "It is fairly common policy."
