This sounds like common sense is taking over. The insanity of the embargo has infuriated US businessmen for decades.

Maybe one day we need a thousand doctors and ask Cuba to send them in a hurry.

Catfish Diplomacy with Cuba.
.
On May 28, five members of Congress arrived unannounced in Havana, joining 114 companies from 22 states to negotiate new sales of agricultural products to communist Cuba, which has faced a U.S. trade embargo since 1962. Despite the blockade, Cuba is expected to sign new food deals with the U.S. worth about $150 million. Congress is weighing several proposals to lift or ease U.S. trade sanctions with Cuba.
.
CATFISH Mississippi began negotiations with Cuba to export catfish, a Cuban favorite. The Mississippi delegation in Havana treated Cuban officials to a May 27 catfish fry.
.
RICE Each year, the country needs 700,000 tons of rice, a Cuban diet staple, to feed its people. Vietnam supplies 400,000 tons, but states like Arkansas want to export more to Cuba.
.
POULTRY Alabama, from which Cuba bought almost a third of all its U.S. purchases last year, is looking to increase its exports of poultry--as well as utility poles, cotton and snack foods.
.
POTATOES This summer Cuba will send experts to North Dakota to close a deal to import an initial load of 100 tons of American seed potatoes in the hopes of jump-starting the island's potato harvest.

A scrumptious fish that is mild in flavor, like catfish (even more so I think) and is quite forgiving if you cook it a minute or 2 too long. Where other fish will toughen up, basa remail flaky and juicy. It sells for the same(ish) price as catfish.

Actually just looked it up, it's otherwise know as Vietnamese catfish
