I Can't Get Any Damn Sleep

Reply Wed 6 Jun, 2007 09:52 am
Our dog used to bark all the damn time but we broke her of it. Now she's started again and she's a real pain in the ass with it. It's really effecting my sleep habits which is no good for productivity or my mood. I know you're not supposed to leave those shock collars on them 24/7 but I'm about to.

Any other suggestions outside of a ride in Daddy's truck?

Hang the dog by the collar in the back closet, until morning.

Duct tape ring a bell? Not for the dog for your ears.

Beagles absolutely hate me.

I was ruined by the first beagle I ever met, and I'm sure my fear vibes are transmitted to them, and they take advantage of it.

When I was 7 or 8 Mary Ellen Kazinski's beagle had puppies. The beagle let all the other kids look and touch them, but when I came up she snarled and lunged at me, like I was Damien from the Omen.

She chased me around the yard while all the other children laughed. Especially this one little boy named Billy.

I remember every single one of them.

one day....one day they'll get theirs. oh yeah.

Ever since then, beagles always growl at me, and are generally mean.

I find that funny. I am still laughing.
The duct tape has to do with this post which also cracked me up.

There is a beagle immediately next door to me. He and Pacco have routine barkathons, joined in by the german shepherd down the line on the beagle's side, the poodle-whatever mix next door on the other side of my house, and a pit mix and poodle-whatever next to them. Altogether, now, choir, sing, sing, sing. At this stage of Pacco's life, I'm glad to hear him bark, but I short circuit the situation by getting Pacco back in the house. He'll still woof a bit, but subsides.

Hmmm, white noise machine? ear plugs?
What worked before when you got the dog to stop with the barking?
(I don't know anything about the shock collars..)

That is what is known as a Rovalert osso.

It's like listening to rolling thunder approach then continue down the block.

Now...the question must be posed...why the rear? Why not feed him the pill like normal?

Leave it to shewolf to focus in on the ass.

I think it's strange that you broke him from barking and now he's back at it again.

How did you guys break him the first time?

Oh, and sorry to hear about the lack of sleep. I've had insomnia on and off pretty much my whole life, so I feel for ya.

We had a dog once.
