Hmm, you know that Sarkozy is a right-wing as is Gul, I suppose?
Besides that, whatever the outcome of Monday's constitutional debate in the Turkish parliament, the question of who will run for president will still remain.
Semantics Walter, and smart-assed ones at that.
Gul is an Islamist. Sarkozy is not.
They can hardly be identified as brothers in politics.
Turkey secularists are proving to be predominate.
In any other venue, secularist victories would be triumphed by the Left, and yet there is this strange and unholy alliance between the Left (particularly in Europe) and Islam.
Christian fundamentalists are spawns of Satan (assuming there is a secular devil), while Islamic fundamentalists are merely exhibiting mores born of a "different" cultural imperitive.
Europeans should give thanks for Sarkozy, because without him and others of his ilk, the Walters of Europe will usher in Eurabia.
