That's an incredibly barbaric and inhumane crime.
I don't know the answer to your "why's" and now I have more "why's" of my own, but to be honest I can't stomach reading anymore about it.
Like the VaTech massacre, I'm choosing to bury my head in the sand and go to my happy place.
Sometimes I'm reminded of a Far Side cartoon: "My brain is full, may I be excused?"
First of all, this is a disgusting and heinous crime.
Second, why do people insist on labeling.

Who cares if they are black, white, green, yellow, orange, purple or sage. This crime was a crime of the worst kind no matter who did it. It means NOTHING that these guys were black. Even if it's a hate crime, it doesn't matter if they are black or white. Hate crimes are not committed only because of color of skin.
They are MURDERERS and if anything the label should read "Lemaricus Davidson, a murdering 25 year old....
This does tend to happen primarily with blacks (the unnecessary labeling). Like you need to know it was a black man who did it. It's not enough to know that someone just simply did it. Sometimes, yeah, there is a need, like when discussing a suspect to say a black or caucasion man in his mid twenties, 6 foot 3 or something like that.
On that note....I do think Sharpton and Jackson are two of the biggest racists out there. I think it's a crime that they are even allowed to speak anymore. Take the Duke rape incident. They refuse to apologize to those guys who were completely and totally innocent. Why? If those men had been black and the girl white, they'd be screaming down the walls with "I told you so's".
yeah I know, but it happens all the time on the news too and in the papers and when we talk to each other in daily life.
And it's frustrating.
The other day there was an assault / attempted rape in our quiet little neighborhood.
On the news they described him as a white male mid 20's, blah blah blah.
Someone came on the news forum and asked why they had to say he was white.
Well, DUH! He's still out there, wasn't caught. We kinda need a description.
The above murder case that snookered posted did not require mention of them being black and the victims white unless the purpose was to incite racism. The guys are already caught and heading to trial.
That's what I mean....what squinny said.
Sometimes it's necessary to mention it....other times it's not.
This was not one of those times.
We've also had a problem with kids (older teens) coming across from the townhomes behind us and jumping the fence to play basketball. I don't have a problem with that, it's the smoking pot, tearing up the court, etc.
Anyways, a black teenager came into the clubhouse to get a drink. My boss was talking to him about the kids from the townhomes, did he know them, etc. The black kid asks me "Were they black?" I said "Well, yes. But, it would be anyone that you see walking through the woods to get to the court. If they live here, like you do, they wouldn't have to come through the woods."
So even this kid was was asking about color. I think it's normal when asking about the description of someone.
The point that was being made that for those racist creeps Sharpton & Jackson it is only a heinous crime if it is white on black. And I might add they are not alone. The Black community cheered when OJ was acquitted.
I think a reason it never get the media coverage is because the media execs don't want to touch it. They don't want to be the ones who are pointing out a possible black on white hate crime. Don't want the "racist" word thrown at them.
If the media did question it as a hate crime, that's when idiots like Sharpton would twist it around and publicly question the media for pointing out the killers are black. However, when it's a white on black crime, he's all over it.
It is time for people to stop being cowed by the likes of Sharpton and Jackson and tell them to stick their race cards where the sun don't shine. Enough is enough.
