RUSSIA ON THE WEB is an interactive Internet access to everything Russian. It is a project of the Transnational Institute which was formed in 1990 to provide a base for cultural, professional and business exchanges between citizens of the United States and other nations. It is a network of Russian, American and West European organizations sponsoring East-West exchange programmes and conferences. Although the site includes many subjects, it does not cover everything and provides mainly links to the sites focusing on Russian society, culture and religion. The subject index includes Education; Philosophy; Business & Economy; History; Religion; Culture & Art; Language & Literature; Society & Politics, etc. For interactive discussions users can go to Russia-related list servers and newsgroups.

"Visit" in 'History' for instance Alexander Palace Time Machine and you are taken on a tour of Russian palaces and given access to biographies, diaries and all sorts of Romanov memorabilia.
