Why Wake 5? age and injury, or just quirky stuff at the end.
that's how they did it this year.
must be disconcerting to the hitters to have to face wake & beckett back-to-back...
Do you think Wake has another year in him? They keep two big salaries to make that work.
Wake prolly has a few years in him, barring major bad news re the shoulder. But he might not be a bad choice for long relief, particularly if they can finally get Tek better at catching him. That would be interesting -- you come in all set for Lester (or whoever) and then suddenly in the 6th and 7th innings you're unexpectedly facing a knuckler.
it looks like they're grooming kevin cash to eventually replace mirabelli as wake's personal catcher...
Gotta admit, Mirabelli is my favorite Sock. (Good roots)
But I think his time is almost up.
schilling'll be back for one last go-around...
Hey, I missed it, and I'm sure you will know. I saw the end of a bottomrunner this morining on ESPN. Who besides Mattingly went with Torre to LA? Was it Pena? They said two from the staff were following.
Thanks.
didn't hear about coaches, but i think it's a foregone conclusion that mattingly goes with him.
also, pettitte declined his option and may retire...
Ahhh, I just found it. Larry Bowa is the third.
cooler heads have prevailed -- lowell signed a $37.5 million contract today to stay in beantown for 3 more seasons...
Good for you, Sawx Nation.
He woulda been outta place in the Empire.
i honestly wasn't sure what he would do.
glad to see he took the hometown 'discount'...
I think he'll be able to make ends meet.
Someone should ask such a discount from me.
You hit a curveball, do ya Georgie?
Yeah, right.
I couldn't hit a beachball with a canoe paddle.
Is Mike Lowell f'n nuts??? Good to have him back, but how do you turn down another $13-14 million dollars? That's a lot of cake.
it's not always about the bling, bro...
Johan Santana the newest minion of the evil empire? talks are on, and Cano may become a Twinkie....
looks lopsided.
santana's coming off a sub-par (for him) year: 15-13, 3.33 ERA...
