Hi mrsgreen

Have very little time at the moment to do puzzles! Brought new computer home after my holiday in Port Lincoln and setting it all up, for a "novice" like me that is a very big task, believe you me. Laughing

Will get back into swing of things once I'm fully up and running.

Get back to me if you need any assistance.

Regards Dutchy

That's not the problem. Transferring the contents from my old computer to the new one is the problem. Any tips? Laughing

That helps with all your favourites and email / IE / internet settings and all sorts, plus files. Ive never actually used it myself though, but im sure it will give you some info on how to do it too
Hope it makes your life easier lol.

Hi Dutchy,

For transferring files like (word documents and music files) over to your new PC, it is easier to burn the files to a re-writable DVD or network the PC's and copy everything across.

Or you could just clone the whole Hard DiskDrive with some third party software. Very HappyVery Happy

Hi mrsgreen.

Look at:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_flash_drive

Basically a gadget half the size of a cigarette lighter and they come in various sizes. You just stick it in a usb port and record everything you want from your hard-drive.

I did my Windows Outlook (mail program) first, then My Documents etc. Flash drives have become very cheap, mine 2G one cost me $40.00. Everything I transferred was under 2G so I did not have to split up anything.

Very handy gadget to have, if you want to transfer a program say to a friends computer, you just carry it with you on the flash drive, no need to copy to a disc!

Oh I have lots of those for the business lol. Ive never heard them called a flash drive before though. They were of no use to me when I got new computers though, I needed to transfer actual programs and they dont let you duplicate them unfortunately.
Bet you are having a ball playing around with the new computer Laughing
Well, hubby comes home tonight so see you all next week... hope everyone has a fantastic easter!

Hi Duchy, What you need to set up your computer is a super whiz at it
.
like Iam lucky enough to have with my daughter. She can take them apart
and put back to-gether, has just put new hard drive in mine and set
it up. It's all double dutch to me---- no pun intended.
good luck and thanks to all for all those answers, must admit a bit
iffy with that cryptic. Gwen 39
