Indeed, one should not shoot the messenger, but the message. However, the message is clearly wrong, and the messenger continues to follow the message, then the messenger is at fault. Nevertheless, as long as the message is not shown to be wrong, the messenger is not at fault.
How exactly do these black holes influence the Earth? The black holes only have gravitation force, and that depends on the mass of the particles. The black holes need to be very massive in order to influence anything thus, because gravity is very weak. Small black holes are surely not-so-massive, and therefore cannot do much.
Other than that, they
can suck things in. However, insodoing they would gain mass. This would increase the volume contained by the event horizon of the black hole. This would cause the black hole to suck in more and more things. Since the black hole would have already fallen to the center of the Earth, the black hole would continue to consume the Earth's inner and outer core, and then the mantle, and finally the crust, and then the atmosphere. But then, of course, the Earth would be gone, even if the moon still continues to revolve around the black hole.
Quote:"Is it possible a black hole lurks deep within the earth."
If that is true, then the Earth would have been gone already, assuming that the black hole has ever interacted with any particle of Earth.
