amsterdam/holland MARCH 1977 - 30 years ago !
we had flown into amsterdam via KLM - boy , were those great flights !
car rentals were a lot less expensive in holland than in germany in those days , that was one of the reasons for flying into amsterdam .
also we wanted to spend a week along the moselle river - to taste the wines , so we stayed with a vintner in klotten .
btw by paying an extra $20 p.p. we received two nights in amsterdam at the hotel carlton , 50 % off the car-rental for the first week , canal cruise ... those were the days !

btw you may notice i managed to get "canal , bicycle AND bridge" into one picture ! (a bit of a squeeze )

Terrific. A lot of the paint colors look, er, "buttery", sort of golden..

I've tried bicycles and canals, but it's no good.

They sink.

Walter: You seem to be under the misapprehension I am intelligent enough to do more than look at pictures. Shocked

I go so far as to connect the light in Utrecht and the light in Siena... clearly wrong re the actuality of light, but still, these photos remind me of some of mine from Siena.

Hi Walter

Thank you so much for posting your series of photograph, for one living downunder they brought back many memories of places which I frequented in my youth.

Dutchy.

OK, I'm defibrillating. don't know which photo I might like best, though perhaps the very last. Bravura photos.

But also the place... I'm interested in those places... (which of course I should look up - google is so amazing. I'm still getting used to it existing.)
