Sulphate rocks are a good cave former just like limestone. Because the rovers had assembled some good data that the martian surface was covered with deposits of "plaster-like rocks" this meant that there was water at ione time. So some of these deposits , deeper down, may still show a fairly inhabitable planet.

Sourse sulfate water would make MArs the "Ex LAx" lanet.
