As we look deeper into space, we see futher into the past.
If we found a way to travel faster than light (a very big if, obviously) then we would be able to view the Earth's past as though it was the present, yes?
That brings to mind a question I have always pondered. If you built a really big telescope and peered into space would you see the back of your head?

Unless you dip the telescope slightly, in which case you might be checkin out your own ass.

I need some time to ponder this myself. I'll post a reply if I can give a decent answer. For now, I don't see why not, if you can travel a straight line and return to where you started from. As is predicted by General Relativity. You would of course need a clear line of sight.
