Hi All,
I just checked what I ended up. I went with Unity.
I posted my entry off quite a few days back.
Too late for a change of heart for me. ;-)
It will be an interesting one to watch when the results are out that is for sure.
Perhaps the Umpire will be kind to us all and accept both.

Well All,
you know what???
I reckon Christine will accept both UNITY and UNIFY. They both fit and are so close in meaning that she will say 'okay guys, I am accepting both words' It's been interesting listening to everyones opinions though.
Hasn't it?

Hi Dutchy, I donno what I am going to do. I still have some time before I post. Some of the arguments against unity are logical ergo we will have to 'unify' our efforts to reach a conclusion. 'To 'unify or not unity, that is the question'
Well after having researched at length and having consulted an English grammar expert on another thread I have had to admit "UNIFY" seems to be the more appropriate answer. Now we'll have to wait and see if Christine agrees with us.
Good luck to you all with your entry.
Dutchy.

Hi to everyone. I thought I would put my 2 cents worth in this
discussion, very interesting.
Make whole --- unify.
Made whole ---- unified.
Make whole --- unite.
Made whole --- united.
One of my reference books has --- UNITY -- whole, the other has
combine into a whole, unification.combination or union of parts into a whole.
UNIFY -- to make into a unit---consolidate.
I think I will go with unify.
